Mesa is also home to the Mormon Temple, a special place to visit in December, as they decorate with millions of lights for the Christmas season.
The down town area has the Mesa Convention Center, with 15 meeting rooms, an amphitheatre and Marriott Hotel next door. They have numerous conferences and host leading entertainers through out the year..
Housing is very diverse, from Mobile homes to condos, townhomes and single family detached homes, from golf course lots to waterfront homes, ones with fabulous views of the Superstition Mountains and ones close to mass transit and the Light Rail. Prices have dropped significantly since the real estate run up in 2005-2006, so there are affordable homes. But, the whole Phoenix real estate market is seeing huge buyer interest and with little inventory, it’s a seller’s market. Prices are going up and homes don’t stay on the market long.
There is also new construction happening again, with K. Hovnanian, Taylor Morrison, Woodside and Pulte as some of the builders breaking ground.
